Milton School PTO 2007-2008

Dear Milton Families,
This year will mark the completion of the renovation of Milton School. The new gymnasium project has begun. Since the gym is a stand-alone project, the impact on the students and faculty will be minimal, and won't involve the existing footprint. Many people worked very hard last year, and in the three years before that, to secure funding for this project. Thank you all again for your help and dedication-we're in the home stretch at last!

The PTO membership is made of any parent with a child in our school, and the Milton Faculty. We invite and encourage you to get involved and help out in any way you can. Here are some dates to remember.

The Milton Silent Auction- November 9th
This is a wonderful, fun party, and it gives everyone an opportunity, early in the year, to get together and socialize while supporting Milton School. The Silent Auction Committee has been hard at work all summer planning a wonderful evening, and we are counting on you all to turn out and lend your support.

The Milton School Fair -- May 3rd
The Milton School Fair is a Milton School tradition with games, crafts, food, and lots more. This is the event that our students look forward to all year long. Please be sure to volunteer for a shift or two. The fair is only possible with the help and support of our Milton School families.

One of the things that has traditionally made Milton School so unique is its sense of community, and the caring and cooperation that have gone into making Milton, Milton. our goal for this year is to reinforce this spirit and contine to celebrate it in all we do. Milton's spirit grows from many, many individual acts, and we ask each of you to do what you can to contribute to the Milton spirit in the coming school year.

Sincerely,

Pam Smith and Sue Melfi

Milton Parent Teacher Organization
Mission Statement

The Milton PTO is an organization of parents and teachers that exists to enrich the Milton School curriculum, programs, and facilities as consistent with administration and Rye City Board of Education objectives.  The purpose of this handbook is to introduce parents — new and returning — to this year’s PTO, to let you know how you can get involved and where you can turn with questions, comments, or ideas.

Membership

All Milton families are welcome to join the PTO. You can do this simply by paying a $15 per family fee.  In September, a note will come home in your child’s backpack letting you know how to join and receive your Milton Directory and Handbook.
