Welcome to Osborn School!
As a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Osborn hums with activity and enthusiasm. Our teachers and staff take great pride in offering the best in education to the children of Rye. We stay on thecutting edge of instructional methodology by ensuring that our teachers and staff regularly attend the nation’s best professional development courses and seminars.
In addition to the high standard of instruction in our learning community, we offer the children a plethora of enriching cultural and academic opportunities designed to pique the curiosity of all of our students…
- Our music program includes strings and band instruments, choral singing as well as curriculum centered themes and topics.
- Our visual arts program provides instruction and activities that include every medium from finger painting to sculpture.
- Our Physical Education Department works collaboratively with the Osborn School Health Committee to provide health and fitness training that is fun and beneficial to the minds and bodies of our community.
Osborn School is the place to be!
A snapshot into an average school day might show you fifth graders doing the fox trot, second graders playing chess, or fourth graders working on their inventions. You are certain to witness our kindergartners creating cities out of blocks, and you might be lucky enough to see the third grade presenting their owl research.
Wherever you go at Osborn you will be impressed by the children’s knowledge, their manners and their joyful participation in our school’s activities. You will be amazed when you see our teachers working hard from early morning to late afternoon collaborating with colleagues, talking with parents, helping children or planning for tomorrow. You will be further excited when you see the number of parents and PTO members who are at school every day volunteering, decorating, and working to raise money so that our many programs can continue. In the autumn Osborn’s Carnival is the hit of the community. Everyone turns out to join the fun, enjoy the various foods, play some games and participate in the raffles and our famous Silent Auction.
I am so proud to be the Principal of Osborn School. Each day when I arrive at school, I feel grateful to have such a wonderful second home. I welcome you to my home, and look forward to the opportunity of sharing it with you, and your children, throughout the school year.
Sincerely,
