CURRICULUM ADOPTION

The Board of Education shall authorize the curriculum and the general course of study to be provided in the schools.

The Superintendent of Schools and professional staff have the responsibility for developing and/or revising a k-12 course of studies and recommending it to the board for adoption.

The Board shall use a variety of standards to judge the acceptability of new or revised curricula proposals including, but not limited to, relevance to the educational goals of the District; specificity of the course objectives; approach; research and evidence of viability; completion of a curriculum guide; adoption of textbooks; costs of implementation; and a plan for periodic evaluation.

The Superintendent shall develop and implement a K-12 curriculum review cycle for the district.
