TWELVE-MONTH PROGRAM
Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and as per the mandates of State Education Law, specifically, Sections 207 and 4402, 4405 and 4408 of the Education Law and Chapter 683 of the Laws 1986, the Board of Education will be responsible for providing, directly or by contract, special education services and programs during the months of July and August to pupils whose disabilities are severe enough to exhibit the need for a structured learning environment of twelve months’ duration to maintain developmental levels, effective July 1, 1987.
Guidelines for the determination of such need will be maintained as part of the Districts’ Special Education two-year plan by the Director of Special Educational Services.
