STUDENT ATTENDANCE

The Board of Education requires that each student shall regularly attend school full-time unless he or she has completed a four-year high school course of study.

Attendance is important. It is each student's basic responsibility as a member of the school community. In addition, regular attendance is directly related to academic and career success.

Every student is expected to be on time and attend all classes, except in those instances listed in policy 5160, Student Absences and Excuses. Attendance is taken by teachers each day. The attendance person makes daily telephone calls to parents to report unauthorized class absences, and regular attendance reports are sent to parents.
