World of Whales

INTRODUCTION: There are many different kinds of whales. A dolphin is a whale. Whales come in different sizes. Even the smallest whales are very large. The largest kind of whale is the blue whale. It is bigger than any dinosaur. Whales look like fish but are not fish.

 

TASK: Listen to your teacher as you dive through the different activities on Whales. Each week we will discover something new about these beautiful mammals of the sea.

 PROCESS:

  1. You will be assigned a whale to research.
  2. Click below to the box that says Baleen or Toothed. Find your whale. Click on your assigned whale.
  3. Read and print the information on your whale.
  4. Highlight information
  5. Fill in the whale "Graphic Organizer"
  6. When you have completed the "Graphic Organizer", review it with your teacher.
  7. Begin writing your 1st Draft (remember to start with a topic sentence).
  8. Get the OK from the teacher to start your final report in Word.
  9. When you finish typing, read it to yourself.
  10. Use spell check to fix mistakes
  11. Change the font to something you like
  12. Change font size to 16
  13. Change the Font color to a dark color.
  14. Import a picture (Importing pictures will be shown to you in class one day).
  15. Ask for permission to print.
  16. Turn checklist, graphic organizer, 1st draft and final report into teacher.
